The vast majority of the sounds on this album were constructed from various field recordings that were heavily processed, synthesized, and at times re-sampled through an old Akai S2000 to achieve even more degraded audio. These sounds were of a wide variety, from dumpsters getting kicked, waves crashing to elevators humming and making noises inside a hospital parking garage.

The sounds were constructed during a particularly dark and painful time in my life, having to watch a loved one endure a vast amount of extended hospital visits, countless lab tests, and be fed an extensive amount of chemicals, with no clear results within sight. Once things slowed down a bit, the sounds were able to be mixed with beats and synths in order to start constructing songs. The combination of these field recordings and experiences form the sound of Voltage Hospital, each track documenting the various phases and days during these months of uncertainty.
